Madison Wrestling Finishes the First Half 8-2

Going into the Christmas break, the Madison Wrestling Golden Knights are undefeated in their PSAL division, and are 8 and 2 overall.

Following the first week’s big win over Horace Mann, the Madison wrestlers then fell in a close match to a strong Cardozo team, 39-36. This is a team Madison can face again in late January during the PSAL Team Championship playoffs. If the two teams do match up again, look for the re-match to be even more closely contested.

After another tough loss to Poly Prep the next day, the Knights rebounded in the 3rd week with big wins over Flushing and Sheepshead Bay high schools.

Next up for the Golden Knights is the 6th annual Paul Goddard Individual Tournament on December 29th. Madison hopes to repeat their performance of last year, and once again place 1st at this Brooklyn wrestling classic.

In January, the team will face an undefeated New Utrecht wrestling team on the 4th, then travel to Monsignor Farrell the next day for the always tough Dave Ironman Tournament.
